Chip Card Testing and Approval Process

Visa oversees testing of contactless chip card that support Visa contactless payments. This process allows Visa to ensure that devices are developed to Visa specifications and will support Visa applications.

After the specification license agreements have been executed and before the testing can begin, the vendor must complete an Approval Services Testing Agreement with Visa.

For each contactless chip card that a vendor wishes to have tested, the vendor must submit an online card questionnaire. Visa will use the questionnaire to determine whether the product is eligible for testing.
